Tooth

One common urban myth we often hear is, “We thought we shouldn’t see an orthodontist until all of the permanent teeth are in.” This misinformation can complicate a case that could have been treated with ease earlier. We encourage you to call today to schedule a consult appointment so that Dr. Renick can evaluate the patient to determine the appropriate timing.

INDIVIDUAL BIOLOGY is the biggest contributor to deciding when to start treatment and the length of time in treatment.

Individual

Individual biology dictates tooth eruption and growth. No two people are alike. In fact, no two teeth are alike. One cuspid may move at a different rate than another cuspid on the same patient. There are no predictors. Tooth movement and treatment time are at the mercy of a patient’s biology which is why we can only provide ESTIMATED TREATMENT TIMES.

At Renick Orthodontics we follow the guidelines provided by the American Association of Orthodontists® and recommend that you bring your child in to our office for their initial orthodontic screening by age 7. This will help determine if orthodontic treatment is needed to ensure your child’s teeth and jaws are aligned properly.

Please contact us at 740-936-5003 to learn more about orthodontic treatment in Sunbury, Galena and Johnstown, Ohio, and schedule your child’s initial consultation with Dr. Renick.
